I’ll remember

These photos were taken during a single day on a brief visit to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. My day began with a walk through a local market near my hotel, where I couldn’t help but wonder how long the meat and fish would remain fresh under the intense sun and heat.

Afterward, I rented a bike with a driver and headed to two of the most significant historical sites left by the Khmer Rouge regime: the Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields.

While I captured many images, out of respect and reverence for the gravity of these places, I chose not to publish them all. Some experiences, I believe, are meant to be felt in person. These photos serve as a personal reminder that while we cannot change the past, we can strive to ensure such atrocities are never repeated.

Later, I returned to the city, where I spent the evening by the river. Among the bustling mix of tourists and locals, it was almost as if the day’s earlier somber reflections belonged to another place and time.
